I thought a
lot about some
of the things we
discussed, and
decided that I
really could do
something about
my lack of
exercise. It was
that phrase
"What's stopping
you?" that made
the difference.
I have stopped
promising myself
that I'll go
swimming/cycling
etc, in the
evening and
taken a new
approach. I walk
with my
daughters to
school and back
(about 25
minutes) at
least once each
week day. It's
not a huge
amount of
exercise, but I
feel a million
times better for
it. We walk down
a beautiful
country lane,
across a meadow
and along the
side of a
stream. It fits
in easily with
the rest of my
life. It's at a
time of day when
I still have
some energy. The
children ( 5 and
2) love it, in
fact, they
complain if we
use the car now.
The thing that
really surprises
me is how much I
enjoy it. It
makes my me feel
glad to be
alive. I just
