Dr X came to me to talk through the issues and ideas he had with changing his life. He wanted to work out a new pattern for his work. He wanted to work part-time in two different jobs, one clinical and one not, but wanted to bounce his ideas off someone who was unconnected with his work or family. As a result of coaching with me he worked out strategies of communicating with the people he needed to talk to about this and was surprised at how the process worked out so well for him. Not only work issues but we also discussed ways he could look after his own needs more fully. He stopped taking work home in the evenings, re-visited his creativity and started to communicate with his wife much better.

Dr Y wanted to get herself ready to becoming a consultant. This involved not only the mental shift her own self esteem but also changing her external appearance because she thought that she needed to look more appropriate to the status. During the few months I coached her she underwent a transformation not only began to think how she would run her future department but also upgraded her appearance by dressing in smarter clothes, having her hair cut stylishly, going to the gym and walking regularly. Not only that but she was appointed to a consultant job and moved house too.

They became more aware of how to set and reach their goals, to say no more often, to communicate with colleagues more effectively and how to look after their own needs much better. The relationship with their partners improved too.
